Drying Fruit at Home
Raisins, dates, sun-dried tomatoes—many of us buy dried fruit all of the time, but did you know it's easy to dry fruit at home? This often-overlooked preserving technique can transform a bumper crop into a sweet snack or healthy addition to your favorite dishes that can be used year-round.
City Furit's fall fruit-drying class will cover the preparation of food for drying, different drying techniques, equipment, and ways to use the dried fruit, and participants will receive detailed handouts with recipes and techniques. Instructor Kristin Danielson-Wong is a long-time fruit preserver with experience teaching fruit-drying workshops.
