The Butcher / Fragments of a Lost Palestine + Q&A
The Butcher
Mimoun is a middle-aged Arab man running a financially troubled butchery in Paris. He is a staunch pessimist, but nonetheless a respected elder in his community. When Mimoun is given the opportunity to sell his business, he reflects on his choices and wonders if he can leave the place he calls home.
Fragments of a Lost Palestine
Art comes from the roots. Fragments of a Lost Palestine is a subjective journey, shot as fragmented memories of the director's country of birth, Palestine, as remembered throughout years in exile. The film is above all an encounter with people—intellectuals, peasants, workers, and the director's niece as she grows.
Filmmaker of the Butcher will be present at the screening for Q&A.
