Thyme Seller
Thyme Seller portrays the daily life of the director's mother—a Palestinian woman from the Jerusalem area who plants and collects thyme on her land near the pre-1967 Green Line in order to sell it for a living. Every day, she collects the thyme and walks through the streets of Beit Jala, knocking on doors one after the other, trying to sell the herb to support her family. This moving portrait is new director Taha Awadallah's graduation project: "It's the least I can do to reward my mother."
Budrus
Community organizer Ayed Morrar began a programme of peaceful protest, uniting Fatah and Hamas supporters as well as Israeli civilians, when the Israeli Separation Barrier threatened to wipe out his village of Budrus in the Palestinian West Bank. However, success was limited, until his determined, fifteen-year old daughter Iltezam mobilised a womens' wing, revitalising the campaign. In this inspiring documentary, filmed over months and months of protests, we witness the efforts of extraordinary individuals who take on the most rigid, violent political social divides to work collectively for peace.
