The Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret Halloween Extravaganza With Johnny Showcase
ADVANCE TICKETS ON SALE NOW... General admission will be $15 at the door.
Short of a Pink Floyd reunion, there will be no bigger Halloween spectacle this year. Martha Graham Cracker, the alter ego of Pig Iron Theater Company co-artistic director Dito van Reigersberg, and her maniacal band will rock the new and improved MarBar at 40th and Walnut this October 30th.
Also performing, Johnny Showcase & the Lefty Lucy Cabaret, starring David Sweeney of the sold out Live Arts Festival smash hit Cankerblossom. Both bands will play full sets, and we can only imagine that Johnny will join Martha for a song or two. UPDATE: Word is that Obie/Pew/Barrymore winner James Sugg, Jess "AnaConda" Conda, Carrie creator/star Erik Ransom will be in the house as guest singers.
DRINK SPECIALS: $3 cocktails, $5 wines, and lots of cheap beer.
MarBar is a beautiful room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Walnut and a great sound system. Check out their website gallery to get an idea.
MarBar is easily accessible by public transportation. The 21 bus from Center City gets you to the front door in minutes for $2 each way and runs until well after 2am. The Market Frankford El is 2 blocks away. And a cab from Center City is about $10. There's also ample street parking and a covered parking lot across the street at the Fresh Grocer.
