Sin Palabras (Without Words) / Welcome
Sin Palabras (Without Words) by Othman Naciri
In a small fishing village in northern Morocco, a woman offers the best present she can to a black African man that saved her husband from drowning.
Welcome by Philippe Lioret
Bilal, a 17-year-old Kurdish boy from Iraq, is trekking across Europe to reach his love in England. When the young boy reaches Calais, France, he begins taking swim lessons from Simon Calmat so that he can cross the English Channel. Things get complicated for Bilal, struggling to survive as an illegal alien in France, and for Simon as he tries to keep authorities from learning about the boy he harbors. This thought-provoking examination on solidarity from French director Philippe Lioret takes a humanistic look at illegal immigrants in France.
