La Cravate and La Constellation Jodorowsky
La Cravate
1957, Dir. Alejandro Jodorowsky With Denise Brossot, Rolande Polya and Alejandro Jodorowsky; Digital Projection
Long considered lost, La Cravate (also known as the Les TĂȘtes Interverties) is Jodorowsky's first work, a silent short from 1957. Adapted from the Thomas Mann novella (The Transposed Heads), the film tells the story of a young woman who makes her living selling human heads in the streets of Paris. Jodorowsky acts alongside his future wife Denise Brossot, with an appear- ance by surrealist Raymond Devos.
La Constellation Jodorowsky
1994, Dir. Louis Mouchet With Fernando Arrabal, Peter Gabriel, and Alejandro Jodorowsky; Digital Projection
In Louis Mouchet's documentary, the full breath of Alejandro Jodorowsky's work is revealed. From his aborted version of Dune, staring Salvador Dali and Orson Welles, to restoration of tarot card decks, and comic book work with the likes of Moebius, La Constellation Jodorowsky gives a unique glimpse into the life and work of this seminal artist.
