Tish Hinojosa with Marvin Dykhuis
Tish Hinojosa crosses borders between cultures, languages and musical genres.
As the youngest of thirteen children born to Mexican immigrant parents in San Antonio, Texas, Hinojosa grew up listening to the traditional Mexican songs on her parentsâ radio as well as to the pop and folk stations of the 60âs.
Inspired by these diverse influences, she began playing and singing, first for her family and then later in local clubs and coffee houses. In 1979, she left her hometown for the mountains of New Mexico, where she discovered her love for pure and heartfelt country music.
Hinojosa moves with equal grace through folk, country, pop and Latino styles with music that reflects contemporary Americaâs multicultural richness. Armed with a characteristic warmth and a pure, soulful voice, Hinojosa has gained a loving and loyal audience throughout America, Europe and beyond.
"Simply put, Hinojosa is a first class songwriter" â" Chicago Tribune

Marvin Dykhuis is originally from Racine Wisconsin. He started his musical career playing clubs and colleges throughout the Midwest with blues bands (Marvin and The Dogs) and folk groups (Paffrath and Dykhuis).
In 1986, Dykhuis relocated to Austin, Texas, where he soon became a part of the rich music scene. Ultimately, he began working with Singer/Songwriter Tish Hinojosa and has been her âright hand manâ, playing on all of her recordings as well as producing and writing with her.
Dykhuis spent eight years playing a regular gig at Austinâs famous Threadgillâs, co-fronting the Threadgill Troubadours band alongside Champ Hood for the restaurant/clubâs Wednesday night tradition; the âSittin', Singin' and Supper Sessionsâ.
Conversant in musical styles from Blues to Bluegrass, Dykhuis has produced and played around the globe with Hinojosa and many other Texas-based groups.
