Notes on Craft
This autumn, the Writers Guild Foundation will host its second series of six discussion evenings entitled Notes on Craft. Each evening will feature two or three writers in conversation with Academy-nominated writer Dan Petrie Jr. on various aspects of the screenwriting craft. The formal part of the evening will be followed by an audience Q & A.
The series will take place in the second floor Multi-Purpose Room at the WGA.
Thursday October 14: Premise and Concept.
Wednesday October 20: Story and Structure.
Thursday October 28: Characters.
Thursday November 4: Mood, Tone and Voice.
Thursday November 11: Dialogue and Scene.
Thursday November 18: Rewriting and Polishing.
NOTE: This lineup is subject to change; speakers are confirmed subject to shifting schedules and ultimate availability.
Cost: entire series: $100, GP; $80 WGA; $50 full-time students with ID. Individual evenings: $20.00 GP; $15 WGA; $10.00 student. At door: $25.00 GP: $20 WGA; $15 student and military service personnel/veterans with ID.
