Music at Evergreen Concert Series 2010-2011
Evergreen Museum & Library's popular and adventurous Music at Evergreen series of classical and world-music concerts returns, presenting live music in the museum's stunning Bakst Theatre on three Saturdays in November, March and April. Concerts begin at 3 p.m. and are followed by meet-the-artist receptions. CLAREMONT TRIO / November 20, 2010 / The program includes Frank Martin's Piano Trio on Irish Folk Tunes, Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67, Paul Schoenfield's Café Music, and Ravel's Piano Trio in A minor. EDMAR CASTANEDA QUARTET / March 12, 2011 / Castaneda has been characterized by the New York Times as "almost a world unto himself." He appears with his quartet performing music from his latest album, the criticallyacclaimed "Entre Cuerdas." HAHN-BIN, VIOLIN / April 16, 2011 / This extraordinary recital by the flamboyantly precocious virtuoso features works by Barbara White, Lutosławski, Cage, Chopin, Saint-Saens, de Falla, Penderecki, Schnittke, Ravel, Debussy, and Sarasate. With John Blacklow on piano.
