Club Gateways
The Show: 8pm
Post war Chelsea, London: bohemian, broad-minded and wild. A world of its own, the habitat of artists, musicians and theatricals: Quentin Crisp, Joyce Grenfell, and Joan Collins are regular visitors. Join us at The Gates a small private members' club in the heart of Chelsea for a night of laughter, passion, star crossed lovers and gangster warfare. This passionate extravaganza is taster of the full version of The Gates - the 1950's Blues, Jazz, and Gospel influenced musical spectacle.
"I went to Friday night's performance of Club Gateways with my friend Sophie and we both thought it was great. I loved the feeling of being in a cabaret club and we both thought the music and lyrics were of a really high quality. Well done!"
"A show which not only had the audience's toes tapping but which had our hearts tugged too. The central love story is surely a classic tale of doomed love, about characters whom I genuinely cared for, but when will we see what happens to them?"
"The songs were excellent, To be with You, stood out for me as a love song which like ' I knew him so well' lives vividly within the show for which it was written but which stands alone equally well, as a liturgy to taking a risk in love."
