Special preview performance of "At Rope's End!" by Cabaret Red Light
In the last episode of The Seven Deadly Seas (Waylaid & Hornswoggled), wily business consultants persuaded legendary pirate Calico Jack to invest all his booty in so-called risk-free credit default swaps. But as the saying goes:
"Fool me once... Uh... You fool me, you can't get fooled again."
Cabaret Red Light brings the Pirates of Ponzi back to Penn's Landing for an all-new installment in The Seven Deadly Seas, the somewhat true story of Calico Jack, Mary Read and Anne Bonny aboard the Tall Ship Gazela (oldest wooden square rigger in the United States still sailing). This time, a surprise visit by Gentleman Pirate Winthorp — and several others from Never-Never Land — has Jack scrambling to make good on his Pirate Oath. Starring Annie A-Bomb, Cubby Altobelli, Kimberlie Cruse and Shoshi Ruth (of Sidetracked Theater), music by The Blazing Cherries and very special guest violinist Marina Vishnyakova. Introducing Nick Gillette as Gentleman Pirate Winthorp and Christine Fisler as Dread Pirate Blaine.
Proceeds from The Seven Deadly Seas series will help efforts to restore and preserve Philadelphia's own Tall Ship Gazela, a 100-plus-year-old barkentine and a rare piece of living maritime history!
