Mandel JCC Festival of Books - Susan Baruch
Book Title: Paternity
Susan Baruch is a Cleveland Heights High School 1978 graduate. She is a recently retired Kodak scientist, who has had previous publications featured in The Pinnacle Hill Review. Her recent book, Paternity, is about Joel Berger's charmed life which is slipping away. Determined to father a child before he dies, Joel appeals to the women in his macrobiotic dinner group for help. Soon, he is surrounded by a colorful cast of female characters. Is one of these women soon to be a mother-to-be? Before long the seeds sown in this unusual family saga take root and begin to grow, branching out in unexpected ways, blossoming with unexpected grace. You'll laugh and cry with the Berger's as this deceptively lighthearted tale takes some surprising twists and turns on its way to a most ironic ending.
