In 1981 a tiny charming bakery opened up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and before long lines were down the block at Sarabeth's for her muffins, croissants and particularly her "spreadable fruits". Many many awards later (including the James Beard Award for Best Pastry Chef) and with multiple cafes all over NYC, Sarabeth Levine has finally written down her recipes--and over 100 of them are collected in her new and beautifully photographed book, Sarabeth's Bakery: From My Hands to Yours (39.95). Learn to make everything from her Black Beauty Cupcakes to Kugelhopf, Coconut and Mango Cake, Chocolate Chubbies and of course, her amazing jams and preserves.
