Lancaster Roots and Blues, Friday thru Sunday February 26,27 & 28, 2016 is a music festival held every February in downtown Lancaster Pennsylvania. The festival features over 65 artists on multiple stages playing 100 shows, all within walking distance of each other in our historic city center. The venues are diverse and amazing.
The music, is of course Blues and a broad definition of Roots including Jazz, Folk, Bluegrass,Soul, Zydeco and R&B, Country, Ska, Rockabilly and Rock n' Roll. The musicians are the real deal and the atmosphere is straight up fun. In addition there are Master Classes with select musicians, great restaurants and food trucks around town.
There are many options for tickets. We offer 3-day, 2-day and 1-day General Admission tickets that will get you into every concert. VIP tickets are SOLD OUT. The only way you can get VIP treatment now is to buy a Lifetime Membership. Scroll down for full details on the VIP options and other fun facts. While most of the festival is over 21 only, We do offer a U-21 option at select venues on Sat. Read below.
This is a wristband festival; meaning one entry fee gets you entry into all the venues. And new for this year, we will be issuing Lanyards to our 3-day patrons. The festival is first come first serve at each venue. We work hard to put the right artist in the right space and rarely sell out a stage. That said, if you have a favorite, you want to get there a little early to make sure you get in.
Once you have your ticket, (If you order online), you can save it in your mobile device or print it out or have it held at Will Call, (Will Call Option is only available if you purchase your ticket before noon on Thursday Feb. 25).
If you chose Will Call- the window is in our EXPO area in the Lancaster County Convention Center, 25 S. Queen St. Lancaster PA. This is in Penn Square (The center of Lancaster City) and at the heart of our festival. The Will Call Window opens at 2 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
If you have a general admission ticket, e-ticket on your phone or home printed ticket you may pickup your wristband or lanyard at one of four places: The Will Call window in the Expo as mentioned above, Chameleon Club- 223 N. Water St., The Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St.-The Elks Lodge at 219 N. Duke St. The only place you will be able to purchase tickets at festival will be at our ticket booth located next to Will Call.
If you have a VIP ticket the only place you may pick up your wristband or Lanyard will be at Will Call or at the VIP Cocktail Reception on Friday night in the Lancaster City Visitors Center in Penn Square Will Call. Also, once you have your VIP wristband or VIP Lanyard, you may pick up your festival shirt and poster in the Lancaster Roots and Blues Merchandise Booth in our Expo in the Convention Center.
Please go to our website at Lancasterrootsandblues.com for complete details on all the artists . The full schedule with set times and venues for 2016 is posted on our website. Click on Festival information

Learn about our Lifetime Membership option here:
Each Lifetime member will receive an annual general admission ticket for the entire festival each year as long as the festival continues. At this point, you are probably asking yourself, how long will the festival continue? Good question and here is my answer: The goal from day one was to create a long-term music festival in downtown Lancaster Pennsylvania. I want it to be a tradition as long as I'm alive and even years after that. I'm a crazed music fan and I'm guessing if you're still reading this, you are too.
We only have 26 of these exclusive, reduced-price Lifetime Memberships available, and we are offering them ONLY until we sell them out. The money from this offer will give us a stronger base to operate from, to grow the festival and bring in the artists we want to hear. A single, Lifetime Membership is $600.00, and $950.00 for a two-person membership.
Answers to more questions you may have:
For this year only (2016) all lifetime memberships will automatically receive a 3-Day VIP Experience pass. This is a $250 value by itself. A great deal!
What if I want to upgrade in any given future year to VIP level ticket?
If you have a general admission ticket and decide you want to upgrade to VIP status you can. Upgrades are now available. Of course if you want a VIP ticket and you haven't bought any tickets yet, just buy a full VIP ticket. At the very least, your Lifetime Membership or your Early Bird General Admission Tickets will get you access to every show at every festival and a VIP Experience upgrade would be icing on the cake.
Is the Lifetime Membership ticket transferable? A single ticket can be transferred anytime before the 2016 festival in case you want to make it a gift. Just email us here with your name and the name of the person you want to transfer it to. After that you cannot transfer the ticket. That means when you triumphantly enter the great Juke-Joint in the sky at 101 years of age your Lifetime Membership goes with you. If you buy a pair, you can choose to assign one to another person at some point or you can maintain the ownership of the membership and bring the guest of your choice each year.
Note: The ticket date on Lifetime Membership says for Feb. 26-28, 2016. Brown Paper Tickets does not have a way to show an open ended purchase. Rest assured you are in fact buying a lifetime membership good for annual admittance to the festival.
Thank you for considering this. I hope you can join me in our quest to make a great music festival even better.
Under 21!!
Due to the nature of our festival being held indoors and PA Liquor Law it is difficult to open the entire festival to people under 21. But we do have an all age component at three venues on Saturday.
The entire Saturday schedule is open to ALL ages at The Ware Center and The Trust Performing Arts Center. Plus, two Sat. afternoon shows at the venerable Chameleon Club are open to all ages, from 3 to 6:15 pm.
Tickets for ages 13 to 20 are just $20 for these shows. Children 12 and under who are accompanied by a ticketed adult are free. (Sat. only)
Introduce a new generation to great live music. Here's the Saturday lineup that you can bring the kids to see:
Center Road (3:30 pm, Chameleon Club) Dietrich Strauss (5 pm, Trust PAC) Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials (5 pm, Chameleon Club) Kaleigh Baker (6 pm, Ware Center) Vanessa Collier (6:45 pm, Trust PAC) Ruthie Collins (8 pm, Ware Center) Nick Andrew Staver (8:30 pm, Trust PAC) Morgan James (10 pm, Ware Center) Derek Brown BEATBox SAX (10:15 pm, Trust PAC).

This year we have new feature- A Gospel Brunch. This will be held in the Convention Center on Sunday Morning from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will be featuring great live Gospel Music and you may also buy a brunch served by The Marriott. You need a Sunday or multi-day ticket to see the show. The Brunch is extra. There is limited seating Brunches available so you must purchase your brunch in advance. This option is a available below with the tickets. Brunch is optional.
While we warmly encourage festival attendees to buy a 3-day ticket to the event to capture the full flavor of the music and tremendous excitement and energy in Lancaster from walking from venue to venue, (Or taking our shuttle.) we understand life (As in family, jobs and financial resources) sometimes gets in the way of this. And if you don't have the time or money to buy even a one or two day ticket, we have added a very limited supply of one-day one venue tickets at the following venues: Chameleon, Tellus 360, Federal Taphouse, Elks Lodge and The Village Nightclub. Scroll down to the very bottom of the ticket page for these choices. The ticket will only get you into venue listed on it for that date. Once this limited run sells out, you won't be able to buy at the door. We are not offering one-day, one venue tickets for the other venues in the festival.
I hope you join us this year.
Thank you for supporting Lancaster Roots and Blues, A Festival of Music!
Sincerely,
Rich Ruoff Founder Lancaster Roots and Blues
