(Bitter) Sweet Sex
The Center for Sex & Culture is excited to announce (Bitter) Sweet Sex, a very special fundraising event on March 6th at 7:30 pm (doors will open at 7pm) supporting "City of Wounded Boys & Sexual Warriors," a major retrospective exhibition and book by SF radical sex photographer Mark I. Chester. Come indulge and satiate yourself with exciting performances and readings, a sinfully delicious dessert bake sale and an in-process sneak peek at Mark's book.  This important self-published digital monograph of Mark's photographs documents over 35 tumultuous years in San Francisco's sexual underground through fine art personal and sexual portraiture. A companion gallery show is scheduled at CSC for the month of September 2015.

Entrance to (Bitter) Sweet Sex is $20 (no one turned away) and attendees get a free dessert. Patrons who pre-order the book for $85 (15% off the retail price) will get free entrance to the benefit as well as a free dessert. (An extra $10 is charged for tax and/or shipping.)

The (Bitter) Sweet Sex lineup features legendary San Francisco queer performance artist Keith Hennessy; writer/dancer/musician Brontez Purnell; BDSM lifestyle educator and ritualists Cléo, Fakir and Friends; gay slut and punk-rock Buddhist poet horehound stillpoint; community sex health activist and bondage artist Jorge Vieto, Jr.; queer porn sex hacker Miss Maggie Mayhem; and there may even be special surprises by sexologist and pleasure activist Carol Queen, PhD and photographer Mark I. Chester.
