More info:
Market Ghost Tours are 75 minute walking tours through the Pike Place Market based on the stories of hauntings shared in the community and the history of Seattle. With the popularity of ghost entertainment it is important to note that this is not a ghost hunt. Independently we delve further into the world of the paranormal through investigations, seances, and research in order to substantiate the ghost stories. Seattle is not unique in its many stories of ghosts. Every city has its share of stories. Seattle is unique because it went through major topographical change spanning 30 years after the Great fire in 1889. More earth was moved in the Regrade than in the digging of the Panama Canal. Some believe that it is the movement of earth, roads, structures, and graves that create Seattle's many stories. In the Market district is Seattle's first mortuary, the remnants of a graveyard, and an old brothel that still has a red glow cast on it's side.
The Market Ghost Tour received the title: #4 Ghost Tour in the US by Trip Advisor in 2010. The ghost hunter and the historian can both enjoy this tour and learn a bit about Seattle's eccentric history. If you are especially interested in phenomena on film, the earlier tours are better. Please come prepared for the weather, in comfortable shoes, and bring your cameras. For the benefit of the group and for safety, patrons must not attend the tour while intoxicated. All children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
"Terrific fun. Whether you're a local who wants something entertaining to do at night, or if you have an out-of-town guest visiting, it's a fun and educational tour. I learned a lot about Pike Place and areas of downtown & Pioneer Square. And it's not boring history, it's all very entertaining (brothels, murderers, etc). I would do this tour multiple times. I definitely would like to do it as the sun goes down earlier in the fall, so that it's night time during the tour." - yelp.com review
