Celluloid E-Motions
Celluloid E-Motions is an interactive evening of dance theater that blurs the boundaries between classical and commercial, traditional and contemporary. Created and choreographed by local artist Pallabi Chakravorty to commemorate the 10th anniversary of her company Courtyard Dancers, Celluloid E-Motions draws from Indian dance, Urdu poetry, and Hindi film lyrics. Audience members will be led through a performance that begins with the backdrop of Asian Arts Initiative's gallery exhibition and progresses to the formal theater presentation. This magical event is performed by Courtyard Dancers along with guest artists Nandini Sikand and Shibani Patnaik, and is supported in part by the Leeway Foundation.
