Green + Solar Home and Landscape Tour
The second annual GREEN + SOLAR Home & Landscape Tour and Information Fair is comprised of new and remodeled projects showcasing differing sustainable design styles, construction strategies and lifestyle choices.
"We highlight all the ways homeowners can go green – whether it is a custom built strawbale home, a green kitchen remodel or an urban chicken coop designed with reclaimed materials." says tour organizer Alli Kingfisher.
This year's tour features:
*Two kitchen remodels right across the street from each other, both in historic homes - renovating an existing home IS GREEN, you don't have to build new.
*A tour bike rate, $8,and five projects within easy bikable distance on the south hill, on the same day as Spokefest, plus projects in Liberty Lake, Spokane Valley, and Cheney, Ride Spokefest and then go on the tour
*All kinds of construction techniques: three strawbale houses, SIPs (structurally insulated panels), and conventional frame construction. There are many ways to build GREEN.
Tour booklets, which double as event tickets, are available for advanced purchase at the following locations: Aunties, Eco-Depot and the Main Market Co-op.Tickets are also available at Green Salon & Day Spa (227 West Riverside in Downtown Spokane) on the morning of the event, and can be ordered through BrownPaperTickets.com.
