Friday Barn Dance - Plant&Sing!
Help Sylvester Manor kick off our 3rd Annual Plant and Sing Celebration with a big community dance in the Barn at the Havens House.
With their fiddles, banjos, and old-time calls, The Gawler Family will lead the community in a traditional "contra dance." These dances leave you smiling and exhilarated, which explains why they were (and still are) an important part of getting people together in small towns across the country.
The Barn Dance will be followed by A Night of Community Storytelling, hosted By Kathy Lynch.
Theme:Food
A good food story is hard to beat. Come tell yours, or just listen and laugh with the rest of us as we re-live kitchen disasters, big-fish tales, and bygone thanksgiving feasts.
Stories should be short (5 minutes), told without notes, and somehow involve food. Contact plantandsing@gmail.com directly if you've got a story to tell.
Free admission to the stories for those with a ticket to the dance!
