Kirtan Connection Level 2
MUSIC LESSONS with BHAKTI LATA DASI (FOR GRADUATES OF LEVEL 1)

PRICE: $175 FOR 8 2-HOUR LESSONS
Registration is required. To register for either level 1 or 2 please write to Bhakti lata Dasi.
(Level 2 is only available for those who have graduated from Level 1.)
Course Objectives
Students will:
Conduct and host a regular and informal Kirtan Evening
Develop an active relationship with the holy name through a regulated practice of japa and kirtan
Connect with the sacred Vaishnava lineage through bhajans: appreciation and singing of bhajns
Learn and practice the various styles of leading a kirtan
Reflect upon the various subtle elements of leading and hosting kirtan, such as prayer, ego, service, pride, art, criticism, humility (further expansion from Level 1)
Lead full kirtans in-class and out-of-class
Elements of Course
In-person Classes All classes will include any number of a combination of group discussions, personal reflections, writing, activities, role plays, demonstrations, practice, etc.
Homework may include reflections in the form of blog posts, comments on classmates' posts, simple research, practice. All work will be compiled into a Final Project
Papers Students will write 2 papers: Out-of-Class Kirtan Experience and a Kirtan Evening Reflection
Sadhana (Regulated Practice) Students are encouraged to commit to a regulated practice of connecting with the holy name through japa and kirtan; this commitment will be discussed in class

Class 8 April 5th / 2 6pm / Group Sharings, Closing & Public Graduation Event
