Classical Interludes: Inna Faliks and Sophie Cabot Black
Faliks is the founder of the Words/Music series, a concert series that pairs poetry with classical music. She will perform works by Brahms, Israeli composer Jan Freidlin and Liszt and will be joined by poet Sophie Cabot Black. The author of two previous books, The Misunderstanding of Nature (1994) and The Descent (2004), Black has received praise for her taut lyrics of elusive yet enchanting elegance.
Classical Interludes is made possible in part by a generous gift from James J. O'Toole and is supported in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and many generous individual donors.
