With all the growth in the craft brewing and distilling sectors, many budding entrepreneurs are contemplating starting their own business in these rapidly-expanding markets. With over 3000 breweries and over 600 distilleries in competition for shelf space and "share of mouth" getting tight, some owners are looking to exit while growth is in their favor.
Whether you are a business-in-planning or an existing entity, it is critical to understand the issues behind having an "exit strategy" that will maximize the return on the time and capital you have invested in your company should, for any reason, you need to sell your share in your company.
As part of our Saturday Seminar Series, Siebel Institute of Technology is proud to introduce "Exit Strategy: Understanding the Value of your Business", a 4-hour seminar that will give you important insights into how the decisions you make in your business affect its potential value. The content presented in this seminar was designed to expand your understanding of your brewing business by:
1.Defining objectives in a sale 2.Informing expectations about what it might be worth 3.Identifying possible buyers 4.Maximizing the real value of your business
Information will be presented in an easy to comprehend format to allow maximum understanding of the concepts presented, even for those with little prior business experience. The course will cover many areas of importance including:
Building the value proposition - So, you want to (or need to) sellhow do you define what it is that you are selling? - Why does this matter?
Understanding value - Why do perspective buyers have different views of the value of my business? - How does ownership structure affect value?
Valuing your business - How to do it: Understanding the process of "valuation" - How to improve it: Steps to take to maximize perceived value among prospective buyers
