Funds raised at the event are used to support MLMC's vital work with Portland's English Language Learners (ELL), pre k-12 children whose first language is not English. Programming at MLMC includes: Make IT Happen!, an academic coaching program, with centers located in six schools, for middle and high school ELLs preparing them for the rigors of academic success, post secondary education, and beyond; World Language, our newest program, that prepares students for global competency and includes this year's launch of Portland's first public bi-lingual Kindergarten class; and extended learning opportunities, such as our 8-week summer sessions for ELL students.
