Manuel vs. Statue - Blue Door Studios Fundraiser
Blue Door Studios (sculptural photographer Matt Colagiuri) is throwing a fundraising party to support the July 2015 production of "Manuel versus the Statue of Liberty", a musical comedy about illegal immigration. The show won the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) Developmental Reading Series Award, and is now an Official Selection of the 2015 NYMF Grand Jury.
Food, drinks, and a raffle, in the hip, Jersey City studio surrounded by art work (20% of the sales will be donated to support the show). Matt is creating a special piece inspired by the show for a silent auction. Noemi de la Puente, book writer and lyricist of the show will be on hand and present a few songs. What better way to support a show that takes a stand on the DREAM Act, and has captivated audiences in the process?
Blue Door Studios is conveniently located within walking distance of the Grove Street PATH station.
"Manuel versus the Statue of Liberty" is being produced by Mannyville LLC, and this fundraising event's fiscal sponsor is the Dramatic Question Theatre ( a 501 (c) 3 non profit).
Snow date is February 27.
