BRAHMS' FOURTH SYMPHONY - Ran Dank and Vassilis Varvaresos, pianos
Johannes Brahms completed his Fourth Symphony, the last of his symphonies and arguably his magnum opus, in 1885, the year Bryn Mawr College was founded. Its first performance was in a two-piano transcription, the same version we will hear in the magnificently renovated Goodhart Hall. Keyboard virtuosi Ran Dank, a Young Concert Artists Award winner who debuted at Merkin Concert Hall in 2009, and Vassilis Varvaresos, first prize winner in Athens' 2010 Chairogiorgou-Sigara InternationalPiano Competition, will round out the evening with Brahms Waltzes.
A Steinway Spotlight Performance sponsored by Jacobs Music Company.
