Bastard Assignments
Bastard Assignments is a London-based cross-arts collective which brings together audience members, composers, artists and contributing performers to experience exciting, contemporary performances in unexpected spaces.
Formed at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2011, and run by a fluid group of artists, Bastard Assignments have recently put on events in spaces such as a tea room in Greenwich and a bombed out church in Peckham.
During 2014 Bastard Assignments curated the event series S/M/L, with funding from the Sound and Music. The 'At Your Place' series re-imagines houses, flats, basements and balconies across London to create super-intimate, informal, and experimental performance events.
Bastard Assignments' core members are each award-winning composers and creators drawing inspiration from spoken word, electronic music, theatre and performance art.
New work will be presented by Tim Cape, Louis D'Heudieres, Fred Feeney, Edward Henderson, Neil Luck and Josh Spear and includes a visceral star-jumping piece as well as a piece about Ping-Pong and landing planes.
