Band in Seattle live television taping with Planes on Paper and Mikey and Matty
Come participate in the of taping of the television/web program "Band in Seattle" with Planes on Paper and Mikey and Matty - Friday, April 10th, 2015, sponsored by Naked City Brewing and American Music. Each band will perform a 45 minute concert and participate in an interview program, "Band Talk". Doors open at 6PM at Victory Studios, 2247 15th Avenue West between Queen Anne and Magnolia in Seattle. The show starts at 7PM and ends at approximately 10PM. Admission will include two free beers provided by sponsor Naked City Brewing and soft drinks and snacks.
Planes on Paper: Planes on Paper, a year-old Yakima folk duo consisting of Navid Eliot (guitar, vocals) and Jen Borst (vocals), is releasing its second EP just in time for gigs at Leavenworth's Timbrrr Winter Music Festival (Jan. 9-10) and a shindig with Shelby Earl and others at the Columbia City Theatre (Jan. 30).
Eliot and Borst harmonize in a winsome, boy-girl folk style and Eliot occasionally stirs twangy, arpeggiated electric guitar into the mix, for a gentle folk-rock feel. The lyrics are occasionally sophomorically earnest ("Do we love the prism, though the rainbow's dead ") but sung so sweetly it's easy to see why Planes on Paper is starting to attract serious attention on the neo-folkie scene.

Mikey and Matty: Consisting of brothers Michael and Matthew Gervais, Mikey and Matty's music combines elements of '70s folk and '90s indie rock to form a slack-but-precise take on indie rock's current folk resurgence. Warm and inviting, their music is a demonstration of the potency of a pair of brothers making music together: a cohesive, smooth song that highlights the pair's musical cohesion.
