THE GHOSTS OF JUPITER
"When the whole band collaborated on the riff at the center of 'Trampled on Daisies,' I found myself wondering about the building's structural integrity. "
Cara Giaimo (Ryan's Smashing Life)

Ghosts of Jupiter are always On the March, as the last track of their 2013 EP, Green is Gold Vol. I, suggests. There's heft to this Boston-based quintet, who draw inspiration from the muscular, freewheeling hard rock of the 60s/70s and meld it to the serious crush of contemporaries like The Raconteurs, The Black Keys, and Rival Sons. While many have used Cream, Hendrix and their gifted peers as a springboard, Ghosts of Jupiter create music that's alive in a way that echoes the vibrancy of their ancestors.

THE SOGGY PO BOYS
The Soggy Po' Boys were born on Mardi Gras, 2012. Makes perfect sense given their name, and the fact that they're a New Orleans flavored octet. Residing in Seacoast, New Hampshire, the Po' Boys have been honing their craft every Tuesday night, first at the late Barley Pub, and now at Sonny's Tavern  both in the band's hometown of Dover. Much in the spirit of the great residency that exists at New Orleans' own Spotted Cat Music Club where the legendary Vipers have thrown down on every Monday for the past god-knows-how-long, the Po' Boys are steeped in tradition while in search of creating tradition all their own. With a repertoire of New Orleans standards, spirituals, contemporary music, and swing tunes, the Po' Boys offer a lively blend of fun and insanity. Sure, it's served messy, but at the heart of the mess is a sincerity for sprightly composed tunes that are accessible to absolutely anyone that hears it. New Orleans music is supposed to be messy. It's supposed to be steeped in feeling. When you feel music, you find the real beauty behind what makes music so mesmerizingly addicting. That's exactly what the Po' Boys are producing. Their music is enduring. It's infectious. It's inviting. It's irresistible. Don't let their birthplace fool you. The beauty of New Orleans music is that it's celebrated and appreciated everywhere. From the street corner, to the communing pub, to the theater. The Po' Boys are doing their part to spread the tasteful soundtrack of the greatest music on the planet from their roost in the Northeast and while out on the road touring the country. The Soggy Po' Boys  so fresh, so clean (not too clean), so rich. Some of the sexiest sounds alive. A brass fueled swinging jazz band that will indeed stand the test of time and transcend the bounds of geographic pigeonholing.

...MORE ON GHOSTS OF JUPITER
Put on their self-titled debut to hear a band who believes in rock's power to explore and rejuvenate; a colorful, tough and tight ride into the outer reaches of the mind. The Boston-bred rock quintet partnered with the Museum of Science to create a new, eye-popping music entertainment show in the museum's Charles Hayden Planetarium. Running each weekend throughout the end of 2013, "Ghosts of Jupiter: Music Experience" takes you on a fantastic ride into the outer reaches of the mind.

And now with their recent EP fresh out of the studio and more tracks in the works, Ghosts of Jupiter continue stretching their songs and imagination while their overall approach bears a closer resemblance to Zeppelin  powerful, gripping and capable of surprises at every turn. Nate Wilson (lead vocals, keyboards), Johnny Trama (guitar), Adam Terrell (guitar), Tommy Lada (bass), and Thomas Arey (drums) combine grit and high-end musicianship for a refreshing and unique take on the rock and roll that made the legends.

Ghosts of Jupiter have already shared the stage with Blue Oyster Cult, moe., Buffalo Killers and Dead Meadow, and the journey has just begun as they look towards the release of more cosmic music and many mind-blowing shows to come.
