Spellcaster: Hailing from the rain soaked streets of Portland, OR, SPELLCASTER has been hard at work making a name for themselves since the summer of 2009. The online release of their first demo, Spells of Speed, in February 2010 caught the eye of New York label Heavy Artillery Records, leading to their first record deal in April of the same year.
With the re-release of Spells of Speed via Heavy Artillery, the band began their first North American tour in October 2010, quickly followed by the release of their debut Under The Spell in 2011. Rigorous touring ensued as the band crossed the country promoting their music for the following 2 years. Sometime in 2012 a wall was hit, and it became apparent that a lineup change was imminent.
In early 2013, vocalist Thomas Adams and drummer Shad Covert departed the band, leading guitarist Tyler Loney to assume lead vocals duties. Guitarist Bryce R. VanHoosen and drummer Colin Vranizan were enlisted to complete the lineup. Shortly after, the band began writing their self-titled sophomore album, which aside from a two-week west coast tour in summer took up the entirety of 2013.
In December of last year, the band entered Falcon & Audiosiege Studios in Portland, with TOXIC HOLOCAUST front man Joel Grind co-producing and engineering. After 3 months of constant tracking and mixing, their entirely self-funded album was completed in February. With their second album now complete, the band is preparing a thorough touring cycle throughout 2014 and the following year.
In Cahoots: Finding a rock band in Seattle these days is a bit of an oddity, but one with catchy and infectious songs that stick in your head is rarer still. Seattle Washington's In Cahoots is exactly that kind of band. They will be releasing their 4th album in March, Dogland which was recorded at the legendary Hall of Justice Studio with producer Andy Park.
This feisty quartet, is lead by guitar-wielding chanteuse Christina Cramer a vigilant disciple of Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde and Debbie Harry. Christina's soaring vocals have a beautiful mix of "vixen and venom" that highlight her clever songwriting skills. Both a mixture of old-school punk, a dash of country, and some psychedelic classic-rockIn Cahoots is sure to make you sing-a-long in a powerful way.
Come "hang out" with Spellcaster and In Cahoots at Victory Studios and get your 15 minutes of fame on "Band in Seattle."
