THE GARDEN OF PARADISE
The Garden of Paradise tells the story of a proud young prince who sets out on a journey to find the Tree of Life, on a quest to redeem the sins of mankindand his own need for truth. On his path he meets the Mother of the Winds, whose four tempestuous offspring weave more tales, telling him of the wonders of the world as they spiral and twist above the audience. Finally, the East Wind agrees to take him to the place he visits once every hundred years : The Garden of Paradise, where he meets the Queen of the Fairies.
The Prince is offered the opportunity to spend an eternity in paradise but the Fairie decrees one fatal condition, that though each night she beckon him, he must never follow her into the shade of the Tree of Life, to kiss her lips where she sleeps at night; if he can resist this one desire, then all of the rest of the pleasures of Eden would remain his for a thousand lifetimes : the other fairies, the crystal waterfalls and dappled glens and beautiful beasts, the fruits bursting with the nectar of the godsif only he can turn away from her evening invitation, then these and untold other treasures would be his.
But of course, mankind is cursed with a fatal weakness :
He can resist anything Except temptation.
