Longing for an island getaway? Support the Crowden School's Tour Québec fund at this magical Hawaiian luau, right here in Berkeley on March 1!
Come enjoy the tropical vibe of the islands with Hawaiian music, dance, and song. Sip tropical beverages in the courtyard by the light of a tiki torch. The Academy of Hawaiian Arts' ukulele group AHA Mele (Mele in Hawaiian language means chants, poems, or songs) will perform, while the young people of AHA (including our own Maile Ware) dance hula. A Berkeley-inspired luau menu, created by Amy Ware, will feature Hawaiian favorites like Kalua pork, chicken long rice salad, huli huli tofu, portabello poke, and haupia pie. We even have some special prizes to give away, including a Jay Haide violin donated by Ifshin Violins.
Take this enchanting trip to the islands for just one night, and help send Crowden's seventh and eighth graders to Québec!
