Papers the Movie: Stories of Undocumented Youth
Join KPCC and the YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley, with co-hosts ACLU Pasadena and Latino Heritage, for a screening of Papers the Movie: Stories of Undocumented Youth. With only 500 screenings of the movie hosted around the country so far, this is a rare opportunity to join a conversation on a relevant and pressing issue.
"Papers" is the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status. There are approximately 2 million undocumented children who were born outside the U.S. and raised in this country. These are young people who were educated in American schools, hold American values, know only the U.S. as home and who, upon high school graduation, find their are no options for them in America.
7:00pm - Doors Open
7:30pm - Film Screening
There will be a time for moderated discussion after the movie.
The YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley exists for the elimination of racism and the empowerment of women.
