DANCE+DESIGN: 1 The Language of Dance - The Classical Solo
Featuring dances from Balanchine's 'Raymonda Variations'
Perhaps nothing in dance speaks more clearly and more potently than the classical female solo. Standing on her toes, with every eye focused on her, attempting to move through explicit forms in expressive rhythm, some of the the deepest truths about her are revealed.
At DANCE+DESIGN, ACB Artstic Director Lincoln Jones leads lively talks illustrated by performances from ACB's dancers and musicians. Each one-hour program is followed by a reception with the artists, drinks, and live jazz.
This year, DANCE+DESIGN takes place at Gensler in downtown Los Angeles, against one of the most spectacular backdrops in the city.
