Medicare: How is it Really Funded?
The Medicare Program is the second-largest social insurance program in the U.S., with 52.3 million beneficiaries and total expenditures of $583 billion in 2013. Financial expert Ron Workman promises a history of Medicare, with a particular focus on how it was intended to be funded, and how it's actually funded today.
If you have ever thought that you were entitled to Medicare because you have paid for it, you may find this course to be quite an eye opener.
Ron Workman has taught several courses for LLCC and OLLI in current events and related histories for various economics and financial topics, and provided hands-on instruction in Microsoft Excel. He is a Certified Financial Planner professional, owner of Coastview Financial in Pismo Beach, and an LPL registered principal. Before returning to the Central Coast, Ron worked in Silicon Valley for 25 years where he held various management positions with high technology companies. He is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
