The Canadian writing community has long been troubled by narratives of power abuse across gender lines and recent events show this trouble has yet to pass.
Six YYC writing community members have been invited to offer short provocations to a discussion that invites all attendees to participate. Curated by Dr. Larissa Lai, this project of TIA House Calgary enables a respectful conversation around gender, power and abuse, with an opening welcome by Elder Doreen Spence.
Such conversations are difficult and, with Valentine's Day and its own gender dynamics in mind, we also invite attendees to stay after the roundtable for refreshments, dancing, and further conversation at Calgary's Loft 112.
