HEADLINING PERFORMER
VICTORIA VOX Ukulele chanteuse Victoria Vox is no stranger to the international ukulele scene, having performed at festivals across the U.S. and the world over the past few years. Her infectious pop-folk-jazz style has garnered her a large and adoring audience who appreciate her songwriting, vocals, engaging performances, and sense of humor.
In addition to her songwriting and ukulele playing, Vox has received praise for her "invisible" instrument: The Mouth Trumpet. She was invited to blow her own horn on the Jay Leno Show in 2009 and in January 2015, Vox was featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journalas a leader in the mouth trumpet "revival" and performed live on air on KMOX's Charlie Brennan show. She employs her mouth trumpet during musical breaks at her live shows and also includes it on her studio recordings, along with the real trumpet (which she also plays). She also has been recently featured on the cover of Ukulele Magazine.
Victoria is touring the U.S. and Europe in support of her latest album, "When the Night Unravels." Find out more at
OPENING PERFORMERS
SALDAJE is inspired by the Portuguese expression of intense, often nostalgic longing. A fitting title for "The darkest ukulele band in Northern Michigan". Their eclectic, original songs conjure elements of Eastern European, Arabic and Celtic music, Smoky Jazz, Tango and poetic ballads. Saldaje is Melonie Steffes and Shaun Anchak, and a growing family of assorted ukuleles, violin, mandolin, guitar, toy piano, accordion, oud, saw, harmonicas, dance, puppetry and other little surprises. http://m.reverbnation.com/artist/saldaje
UKULELE DWIGHT is a seasoned stage performer on several stringed instruments, foremost the ukulele. Some say he bears an uncanny resemblance to his identical cousin, Joel Mabus, but they seldom appear together on stage. "Uncle Dwight" as he is sometimes called, prefers the vaudeville songs and tin-pan alley favorites of yesteryear, and not-so-much the modern sounds of the 21st century. He's real good, though.
KENDALL CASSELLA is a junior at Okemos High School. She writes her own songs, has a wonderful voice, and a fresh stage demeanor and sense of humor.
