Meet the Producer Fall 2010 Dinner
Featuring Central Pennsylvania's great kept secrets: fresh water fish and heirloom potatoes. Meet the producers (bringing the farm to the table) and enjoy a spectacular four-course dinner that includes specially selected wines. It will be held at 6:00 PM on October 1 at the Wildwood Conference Center, HACC.
Our rainbow trout comes from the artisan spring waters of a portion of the 19th century historic Union Canal and the striped bass from the Susquehanna River. Bass has the reputation for its mild, sweet taste and a flaky texture. It is a great protein source and low in calories, fats and cholesterol. The tasty heirloom potato fingerlings run the painter's palette: purple, orange, red, gold. Our culinary team includes HACC Culinary Arts Instructors Chef James Switzenberg and Chef Autumn Patti, as well as the students, who will assembling a delicious and creative menu designed to complement the wines.
Featured producers:
* Limestone Springs (Myerstown): Rainbow trout caught that morning.
* Susquehanna Aquaculture (York Haven): Striped bass, fresh enough to slap you in the face.
* Tom Culton (Silver Springs): Heirloom potatoes.
