New Mexico Jazz Stories with Patty Stephens
Life is an improvisation, a mixed tape, an unfinished work-- and no one knows that better than the five professional musicians NMJW has lined up for New Mexico Jazz Stories. They've played everywhere, from juke joints to concert halls, for sophisticated, international audiences, to salty bar flies in dives. The artists of New Mexico Jazz Stories Volume 2 have collected their stories throughout their colorful journeys, and they plan to share them with you, for the first time.

Patty Stephens sings as much or more than most people talk. She knows first hand about the human body as instrument and is passionate about facilitating that realization for others. She is presently recording and singing with Bert Dalton's ÂBrazil Project. Her newly composed program ÂSong Spiral is geared toward families with children; newborn to kindergarten. The intent is to rekindle community singing and music making. Patty teaches private and group lessons from her studio near the Rio Grande and is active in New Mexico'Âs Jazz scene as performer, presenter and conduit. "Soon everyone will be singing because it makes us feel life" she sings.
