Dr. Clark Render presents an evening of video, performance, and vintage DJing. The evening begins with a showing of 3 Blacklips Classics: EARTHQUAKE, THE SHYSTERS and CHOP (featuring Antony of Antony & the Johnsons)... DRAG QUEENS, SKINHEADS & SOME GIRLS: The Pyramid Club 1981-88 by Marjan Moghaddam (2010, approx 11 minutes) contains vintage footage from the seminal East Village nightclub/performance space during its first incarnation in the 1980s, illustrating the creativity and diversity of both its performers and patrons. Bringing together the warring factions of NYC's subcultural tribes, the club briefly captured an artistic utopia that defied stereotypes. Featuring rare early footage of Wendy Wild, Ethyl Eichelberger, Lady Bunny, Murphys Law's Jimmy Gestapo, John Kelly, the Bush Tetras, Gwar, Liquid Liquid, Nick Cave, the Butthole Surfers and others... Door proceeds to benefit The Actors Fund for HOWL! HELP.
