"Summer Classics"
You'll need the intermission to sigh over Les Sylphides, Michel Fokine's beautiful "white ballet" celebrating the Year of Chopin. The second half is all about Offenbach, starting with soprano, Megan Chenovick,singing The Doll Song from Tales of Hoffmann. Then, brace yourself for the rousing Can Can girls with the fun and beautiful characters of Gaite Parisienne choreographed by Massine to Offenbach's music borrowed from Orpheus in the Underworld, a fitting final tribute to the Ballet Russe 2009/10 centennial year.
