Eastside Symphony - October 2010 Concert
We open our season with a selection of idyllic fantasies and dances, then present the dramatic first movement of Shostakovitch's 7th symphony, his requiem for Leningrad.
On the program: * Chaminade: Concertino for Flute and Orchestra, Lisa Hedley, flute. * Wagner: Siegfried Idyll. * Miller: A Woodland Sketch for Strings and English Horn, Maureen Stone, English Horn. * Shostakovich: Three Fantastic Dances (arr. for orchestra). * Shostakovich: Symphony # 7, "Leningrad," (1st mvt.)
Directions to the Redmond Performing Arts Center can be found on our website: www.eastsidesymphony.org. Tickets will also be sold at the door beginning one hour before the performance, but incur an additional $2/ticket charge. We can only accept cash or checks at the door. Children below the age of 7 are admitted free of charge.
