Remembering Harmony
What is place? What happens when a place we know is changed into something else? These were the questions Dr. Naja Masura had during the closing of Harmony School and its transition into the Ocidental Center for the Arts and Harmony Village. An interdisciplinary artist with degrees in Theater/Performance Studies and in "site specific performance pieces," which, through research and interviews, reinvest their places with the stories that made them places rather than edifices," she began to create "Remembering Harmony." It is a community-based, site specific performance, involving live performers, video and sound projections, and music in a theatrical event. Small groups will be led through the campus in cycles, experiencing "school," shared in stories and vignettes complete with Principal, School Nurse and Yard Monitors.
