Six Tibetan Monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery in Mundgod, Karnataka, India will lead a Sacred Arts Tour in Oxford, Mississippi very soon! The Oxford-Lafayette community is invited to participate. The Monks will be in Oxford as guests of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Oxford. The Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging Compassion in Kentucky coordinates their USA tours and is a 501 (c) 3, committed to preserving the Tibetan Culture,Traditions and Religion. The monks' Sacred Arts Tours raise funds for the nearly 2000 exiled monks currently living in Southern India.
On Thursday and Friday, they'll be offering a number of workshops for adults and children at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center.
One of the numerous workshops they're offering is a workshop for kids where they can color Tibetan designs from 3:30 to 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 19th and Friday, February 20th. Please choose the day that you want to attend by using the drop down menu on the left.
Prices: Registration is free, though a $5 donation to the center is suggested. Donations can be made at the Powerhouse.
