Steven Dietz, a Steinberg New Play Award finalist for this play, says LAST OF THE BOYS "is less a history of the (Vietnam) war and more a history of the men and women who survived it and who have to survive it on a daily basis." The result of this fierce, funny, haunted story is an examining of identities and of the lasting mark history puts on those who experience deadly conflict, both directly and indirectly. In a time when we have yet to realize how the current war will mark history and each of our lives, LAST OF THE BOYS brings the experience of another generation forward holding a mirror, and in its reflection a stark reminder of the reality of life after battle.
