FATHER JOINER'S Purgative Poetry Project
UP THEATER COMPANY PRESENTS
A SPECIAL VALENTINE'S DAY EDITION!
Saturday, February 14th @ 8:00 pm
Written and Performed by Richard Grunn Directed by Page Clements
A variety of winsome characters inspired by poetry are brought together by Father Joiner -- group leader and poet laureate of magnetic refrigerator poetry.
The group's unlikely personalities include outspoken deli owner, Leo Capelli, who has recently discovered the exciting world of similes, and a love-paralyzed accountant, Frank Adamouski, who is fearfully trying to profess his feelings to his secretary. RICHARD GRUNN, UP Theater's newest company member, is the recipient of the prestigious Pennsylvania Council of the Arts Fellowship in Theatre, and is known for writing and performing multi-character works, which he has performed on numerous stages and festivals in the US, Ireland and the UK. He is a teaching artist for Sundog Theatre, where he organizes, develops and teaches acting, puppetry, stagecraft, and art programs in the NYC Schools. He also teaches Literacy and Professional Development programs for teachers.
