An Evening with filmmaker Rodrigo Garcia
Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the Pulling Focus series, Washington Filmworks has again partnered with Warren Etheredge of The Warren Report for another dynamic evening of educated conversation with writer, director, producer, cinematographer (and son of celebrated writer Gabriel García Márquez) - Rodrigo Garcia.
As cinematographer, Rodrigo has worked on numerous films such as Danzon (dir. by Maria Novaro) and Mi Vida Loca (dir. by Allison Anders). Throughout his profession his indisputable talent enables him to balance film art with commercial cinema in writing, directing, and producing various feature films and television episodes (Things You Can Tell Just By Looking at Her, Nine Lives, Six Feet Under and The Sopranos). Rodrigo's most recent film Mother and Child premiered at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival and is considered one of the best films of the year. The film stars Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, and Kerry Washington and is a drama focusing on the powerful bond between mother and child.
