Conversations Re: Tacoma Lecture #3 - Adapting Old Buildings to New Uses
A case study on three pivotal structures in the Theater District: the Winthrop Hotel, Old City Hall, and the Elks Lodge. The Winthrop project has been mired in controversy and indecision for a number of years, the Elks is on the brink of redevelopment, and Old City Hall languishes on the real estate market. Acknowledging that the redevelopment of all three properties will revitalize the area, this session will explore varying perspectives on the situation and attempt to identify a common vision for moving forward.
