Streetcar Named Desire
Come celebrate Nashua Theatre Guild's 50th year!! Our Fall show is "Streetcar Named Desire" directed by Will McGregor. This landmark for American literature was first produced and published in 1947. It won the Pulitzer Prize for drama that same year. The plot examines the mental and moral disintegration and ultimate ruin of a former Southern belle finding her neurotic, genteel pretensions to be no match for the harsh realities symbolized by her brutish brother-in-law.
Director William C. McGregor, who has lived and worked throughout the south, has assembled a diverse and talented cast featuring Lorna Nogueira (Blanche), Craig Ciampa (Stanley), Shawna O'Brien (Stella) and Mark Morrison (Mitch) and joined by a supporting cast of new and old company members Melanie Rodrigue, Jeremy Kerr, Wendy Bellevue and Justin Fredenburg. McGregor along with NTG is pleased to offer Williams most critically acclaimed work as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the playwright's birth as well as the 50th anniversary year of Nashua Theatre Guild.
Presented in the Janice B Streeter Theatre at Court St on September 9-12th. Thursday-Saturday at 8pm with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm
Look for NTG to present "Proof" in January.
