Directed by Becca Wolff and produced by the Cherry Center, Me? A Caregiver, explores the laughter and tears of the story of a family in love, in loss and in triumph. Ellen Harris, an independent woman, a passionate artist and a devoted mother vowed never to be a burden to her children. But when rheumatoid arthritis severely crippled Ellen's hands and feet, her youngest daughter, Mary Beth Harris, left her life as an ambitious young Hollywood producer to become her mother's caregiver. In this darkly comic one-woman show, Mary Beth shares the hilarious and harrowing adventures she encountered by her mother's side.
"When I was caregiving for my mother I found it so much harder than I ever expected. I knew that millions of Baby Boomers would soon find themselves in this challenging situation and I wanted to share my knowledge and help them navigate their way through these rough waters. Then it occurred to me that an accident could happen or illness could strike anytime at any age and suddenly one's life is turned upside down," Harris says.
