Too Pretty To Eat: Exquisite Springerle, Gingerbread & Cake Topper Crafting
Too Pretty To Eat: Exquisite Springerle, Gingerbread & Cake Topper Crafting
Join House on the Hill owner and Springerle/gingerbread instructor Connie Meisinger for a demonstration and discussion of the peculiarities, techniques and a brief historical perspective on Springerle cookies, a very European cookie as it is dependent on a pronounced specific flavor, rather than high fat and sugar content, and a beautiful presentation. The traditional flavor anise, a delightful pairing with dry red wines, will be shared as well as orange which will be served backed with chocolate. Spicy molded gingerbread and marzipan/fondant cake toppers crafted with molds will be shown (a surprisingly easy way to make beautiful little cakes.) A wine pairing will round-out this informative, timely program for NYWCA members and guests. Limited to 35. For more information, contact Alliance member/program coordinator heidi@rakergoldstein.com.
